The American baritone, David Williams, obtained his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music - Vocal Performance from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) (2001-2005); and his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The Juilliard School of Music in New York (2006-2009). During his time at Juilliard, he performed with the Juilliard Choral Union (Director: Judith Clurman). He has won awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Palm Springs Opera Guild, the Gerda Lissner Foundation, and the Los Angeles Opera Buffs.
In recent years David Williams has made professional debuts with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Lexington Philharmonic, North Carolina Opera, Central City Opera, and Komische Oper Berlin. In addition to his professional credits, he has performed numerous roles with Aspen Opera Theater Center, Juilliard415, Juilliard Opera Theater, and Opera UCLA where he did his undergraduate degree. Among these roles are Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello in La Bohème, Escamillo in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Count Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno in W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute, Figaro in The Ghosts of Versailles, Peter in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, Le Directeur in Les Mamelles de Tiresias, and many others.
David Williams has worked as Curriculum Coordinator - Primary Care Clerkship Coordinator at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City (October 2013-September 2016); and Curricular Affairs Coordinator at University of California, Irvine - College of Medicine (since March 2017). He currently lives in San Clemente, California. |
