Jordan Wells (Tenor)

Born: November 11, 1985 - Memphis area, Tennessee, USA

The American tenor, Jordan Wells, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Middle Tennessee State University (2004-2009; (principal teacher: Christine Isley-Farmer)). He is currently completing his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Memphis in vocal performance (principal teacher: Kyle Ferrill). He has also performed around the country as a recipient of the 2018 Brown/Loranger Fellowship at SongFest in Los Angeles and a resident artist with Opera North in Lebanon, New Hampshire, as well as Young Artist at Red River Lyric Opera; Student Artist at Si Parla, Si Canta.

Jordan Wells made his professional debut in Nashville Opera's world premiere of the Grammy Award Winning opera Elmer Gantry. Since his debut, he has performed locally with Opera Memphis and with the University of Memphis. He made made his professional tenor debut singing Rodolfo in Red River Lyric Opera's production of La Boheme. He has performed Martin in University of Memphis' production of The Tender Land. His performing credits include also productions with Theatre Memphis, and DeSoto Family Theatre, where he was nominated Best Actor in Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Along with his deeply rooted passion in Music Ministry, Jordan Wells is an active performer and director in the Memphis area, having music-directed productions at Germantown Community Theater and Harrell Theatre in Collierville, Tennessee. Jordan is also a multi-OHSM nominated music director for his work with multiple high schools such as Bartlett High School, Arlington High School, and St. Benedict at Auburndale. He has been involved in music ministry as a musician, singer, and director for almost 20 years. He recently served as Associate Minister of Music at First Congregational Church. He enjoys traveling, farm life, and wonderful food with his wife Jessica and his two boys Finneas and Luke.
