Endrik Üksvärav (Tenor, Conductor)

Born: Estonia

The Estonian tenor and conductor, Endrik Üksvärav, graduasted in 2004 from Estonian Academy Music of Theatre as a conductor. Additionally, he studied trumpet and French horn. In 2011 he got Master of Arts degree of conducting.

Since 2004 Endrik Üksvärav sings in gregorian music ensemble Vox Clamantis. During the years his interest of early music has been deepened both as a conductor and singer. He has concucted different chamber choirs and orchestras. 2010 he created his own choir - Collegium Musicale. The year 2011 was very remarkable for him, because the choir was announced as "Choir of the year 2011" in Estonia and he got the prize "Young condcuctor of the year".

Also, in 2011 Endrik Üksvärav started to focus more to the solo singing. He made debute in V. Meder Baroque opera Die Beständige Argenia, he performed as tenor soloist in Tallinn International Organ Music festival where he sang Nicolaus Bruhns's cantatas and J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 194; In December 2011 he sang solo in Estonian composer U. Sisask´s Christmas Oratorio and Heinrich Schütz' Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio (Evangelist).

In November 2011 Endrik Üksvärav participated J.S. Bach music singing master-course leaded by Peter Kooy and in March 2012 Bach singing master-course leaded by Margot Oitzinger and Peter Kooy. In February 2012 he had a solo concert where he performed arias of J.S. Bach and George Frideric Handel. In March he sang with Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (conductor Daniel Reuss) J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) II version, he did also the solo part there. Also, he sang arias of Bach cantatas at the concert of Palm Sunday. In Autumn 2012 he started to study Early Music Sining in the Royal Conservatory of the Hague.
