Bram Trouwborst (Bass)

Born: 1977 - Tricht, the Netherlands

The Dutch bass, Bram Trouwborst, first studied History at the Utrecht University and later Russian Studies at Leiden Univesity (2001-2006). It wasn't until much later - in 2011 - that he began his conservatory studies. From 2011 to 2013, he studied Early Music Voice at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Tilburg with Ildiko Hajnal; after which he was admitted to the Master Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies in 2013 at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland. He completed this Master in 2015 "with distinction". He is currently guided by Geert Berghs.

As a soloist Bram Trouwborst mainly performs in oratorios, passions and cantatas from the French, German and Italian Baroque. He also has a great predilection for the polyphonic ensemble repertoire of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The permanent ensembles to which he collaborates (Seconda Pratica, Cantores Sancti Gregorii, Hemony Ensemble and Ensemble Hieronymus) specialize in that area. He works as a freelance chorister for the Laurens Collegium, Helsinki Chamber Choir, Consensus Vocalis, Nederlands Kamerkoor, Stichting Bachcantates Tiburg, among others. He currently lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
