Denise Torre (Soprano)

Born: Orléans, France

The French-born Chilean soprano, Denise Valerie Torre Ormeño, obtained her Bachelor of Music and Musical Interpreter degree with mention in singing from the Universidad de Chile (2004-2014). Her teachers were Hanns Stein, Patricio Sabaté and Patricia Cifuentes.

As a soloist Denise Torre has performed in many concert halls in Chile and abroad, in the company of various groups and orchestras, such as the Camerata Universidad Andrés Bello, Orquesta Clásica de la Universidad de Chile, Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Concepción, Orquesta Barroca Nuevo Mundo, Ensamble MusicActual, among others. She has also worked with prominent national and international conductors such as Juan Pablo Izquierdo, Alejandra Urrutia, Eduardo Browne, Eckart Preu, Ariel Zukermann, Josep Vicent, Doron Salomon and Julian Kuerti, among others.

As a soloist Denise Torre has participated in various works, such as Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell, Magnificat by John Rutter, Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi, Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart, Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, Tres Canciones on Magnificat's texts by J.S. Bach, Misa Brevis in Memoriam Mater Mei by the Chilean composer Carlos Zamora, Symphony for 8 voices and orchestra by Luciano Berio, among others.

Until recently, Denise Torre was a member of the Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile (August 2012-2019), and also a vocal instructor of the soprano section in the Coro Sinfónico de la Universidad de Chile (August 2012-2019).
