Pamela Terry (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: 1980- Galesburg (Kalamazoo), Michigan, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, Pamela Terry, studied at Kalamazoo Area Mathematics and Science Center (1994-1998). She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), where she performed the world premiere of Korban Miller’s Glorified, a work for mezzo-soprano and orchestra, and commissioned by the University. She obtained her Master of Music degree in vocal performance and literature at the Eastman School of Music as a student of Carol Webber (2003-2007). During her studies at Eastman, she has performed as soloist for Jan Dismas Zelenka's Te Deum with the Eastman Repertory Singers, Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria and Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Rochester, and Haydn’s Harmoniemesse with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra. Since 2017, she also studies Clinical Social Work at NYU Silver School of Social Work.

Her experiences on the operatic stage include the roles of Mother in IWU’s production of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, the emperor Nero in Eastman Opera Theater’s production of The Coronation of Poppea, and Prince Charmant in EOT’s mainstage production of Cendrillon.

Pamela Terry has been featured in recitals with composers John Harbison, Jake Heggie, and Ricky Ian Gordon, and has appeared as a soloist with the Charlotte Symphony and the Rochester Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her classical solo pursuits, she performe with ensembles at the National Cathedral and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception ((May 2010-August 2013)). She also appeared regularly as a jazz vocalist throughout the D.C. metro area. She sang alto in The United States Army Band (2011-2017); and was Children's Chapel Minister at St John's Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish, Chevy Chase-Bethesda in Chevy Chase, Maryland (August 2013-2017). Since September 2017, she is a member of the Trinity Wall Street Choir (Director: Julian Wachner). She currently lives in New York City.
