Mirjam Striegel (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Mirjam Striegel, studied singing and music theater at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg with Professor Monika Bürgener, from which she graduated in summer 2014 with a diploma. She is currently studying Master in Specialized Performance at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Evelyn Tubb in Basel. She is also part of the study program Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies ("AVES"). In the summer of 2016 she completed her Master of Arts in Musical Performance Early Music - Voice. In addition to her regular studies, she attended master-classes with renowned vocal educators and acclaimed performers.

Mirjam Striegel performs regularly as a soloist and with various ensembles at home and abroad. For example, she was heard in W.A. Mozart's Mass in C minor in Würzburg, J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) and George Frideric Handel's Messiah in Kristiansand (Norway).

Singing in the ensemble is an integral part of Mirjam Striegel's musical oeuvre, for example, Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), Gaechinger Cantorey (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann), Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock). She is part of the ensemble "Viatoribus" (soprano, cornetto, sackbut, therorbo, organ), specialized in performance of sacred and secular music in the 17th-century, is a winner of the international H.I.F. Beaver competition 2017.
