The American mezzo-soprano, Emily Stott, obtained her Bachelor of Music dgree in Performance in Voice (August 2016-May 2020), and her Master of Music degree in Opera Performance (August 2020-May 2022), both from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory; focus on dramaturgy and performance of operatic and classical repertoire, additional focus in musicology and music history pedagogy.
Emily Stott is a freelance mezzo-soprano, performing since 2015 on stages in the Kansas City area and beyond. She has been Operations and Communications Manager at Kansas City United Church of Christ (August 2021-September 2022); Operations and Communications Manager at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church (September 2022-July 2023); singer and administrator (Manager of Marketing Operations since April 2024) at Lyric Opera of Kansas City (since September 2022). Most recently, she was seen in the premiere of Stacy Busch’s She Breathes Fire - a large work for vocal septet and fixed electronics. Outside of performance spaces, she loves camping, hiking, and playing board games with her partner, soprano Kelli Van Meter. She feels passionately about accessibility in the arts, and is thrilled to be a part of Come As You Are again this year. |
