Jennifer Schittino (Soprano)

Born: 1980 - Syracuse, Sicily, Italy

The Italian soprano, Jennifer Schittino, graduated in 2004 with honors in Singing at the Musical Institute "V. Bellini "of Catania. In 2008, at the same Institute, she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with highest honors. In 2003 she graduated in acting at the School of Dramatic Art "U. Spadaro" Teatro Stabile di Catania.

From 2002 to 2008, Jennifer Schittino participated in numerous productions of the Teatro Stabile di Catania and Palermo, both as an actress than singer. In July 2002 she made his debut in Rappresentatione et Corps soul into the role of worldly life inside the XXVII International Festival Notomusica. In 2007 in Trachis Walter Pagliaro and 2008 nell'Orestiade Peter Carriglio, both productions of the National Institute of Ancient Drama. In 2006 she participated in the tour of "U Ciclopu" directed by Vincenzo Pirrotta in the theater circuit of the Stone Theater, the latter also INDA production. In July 2007 she made her debut in the opera La Neuberin by the composer Joe Schittino, in the title role of Caroline Neuberin, as part of the XV Stelzenfestspiele Reuth Bei. In September 2007 she made her debut in the Hall Ipostilia the Castello Maniace of Syracuse, in the role of Svava Oratory The brave son of Helgi Hjorvaror by Joe Schittino.

Since 2008 Jennifer Schittino joined the company of the Teatro Biondo Stabile di Palermo. On June 1, 2011, she took part as a singer at the opening of LIV Biennale of Art in Venice, performing vocal improvisations during the light installation "Night of Light" by the world-renowned Marco Nereo Rotelli. In April 2013 she majored in Renaissance and Baroque singing under the guidance of Lavinia Bertotti, Sonia Prina and Luke Dordolo at the "V. Bellini "of Palermo. She has been perfected with the bass Ugo Guagliardo and the mezzo Monica Bacelli at the Academy Filarmonica Romana.

Jennifer Schittino performs all over the national and international scene. She participated in several concerts for the Festival Cantar Far directed by Marco Mencoboni, Livio Picotti and VoxAlia Ensemble. She has an incision with the vocal group Odhecaton, specializing in Renaissance music. In 2017 she participated in oncert tour in the scene The Walker by Jacopo Melani with Auser direct Musicians by Charles Ipata.

From 2014 she joined the Cappella Musicale del Duomo di Pisa. She is President of the Association Pisa Early Music. She currently lives in Pisa, Italy.
