Daniel Claus Schäfer (Baritone)

Born: Germany

The German baritone, Daniel Claus Schäfer, obtained his Diploma as Opera Singer (2006-2012) and his Master of Music degree in Singing, Pedagogy and Musicology (2012-2015), both from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.

Daniel Claus Schäfer has been working at the National Theater Mannheim since the 2015 season as a chorister in the 1st bass department. He sang as a soloist in opera productions at, among others, the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Nationaltheater Mannheim and Theater Bonn under the conductors Alexander Joel, Dan Ettinger, Alexander Soddy, Rubén Dubrovsky and Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, Benjamin Reiners, Alois Seidlmeier, Hendrik Vestmann, Hermes Helfricht and stood on stage in festive opera evenings with singers such as Matti Salminen, Roberto Saccá, Elisabeth Teige and Roman Burdenko. In 2023 he took on, among other things, the roles of Speaker, Second Priest and Second Man in Armor in W.A. Mozart's the Die Zauberflöte in Gotha as well as the role of Old Gypsy in the revival of Il Trovatore by the Nationaltheater Mannheim am Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen. He has already appeared as a soloist at the the Nationaltheater Mannheim as The Voice in W.A. Mozart's Idomeneo, as Erfolgloser Spieler in Der Spieler, as Second Prisoner in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio and in numerous small roles.

Daniel Claus Schäfer has also worked as music teacher in several schools. He currently lives in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg.
