In November 2014 Gordon Safari was appointed head of music for the diocese of the Protestant Church A.B. of Salzburg and the Tyrol/Austria. Through his founding of varied ensembles and initiation of a manifold series of concerts in the extremely active cultural life of the city of Salzburg, he has demonstrated his wide range of musical expertise and knowledge. BachWerkVokal Salzburg and Kontra.Punkt - Das Barockorchester were founded in 2015 and will be performing in particular the entire vocal works of J.S. Bach over the next years. Due to the especially high quality of these performances with creative and innovative concert concepts, he was not only able to successfully organize concerts in Salzburg in his first year, but he was also invited to perform at the Residenz and the Herkulessaal in Munich and the Neues Schloss in Stuttgart. A first CD was recorded in 2018. Gordon Safari lives and works in Salzburg.
