The Chilean soprano, Francisca Prudencio, was born in Hannover, attended the German School in Santiago de Chile and completed her singing studies with Mayling Konga at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover in 2007. She was then accepted into the solo class at the same university and successfully passed her concert exam in October 2011. She won the special prize “Best Chilean performer” (“Best National Participant”) at the 35th International Opera Competition “Dr. Luis Sigall” and was a finalist at the Johannes-Brahms-Wettbewerbs in Pörtschach am Wörthersee and the Mozartwettbewerbs in Wiesbaden.
The freelance opera and concert singer appears as a soloist in oratorios and recitals, has worked with Helmuth Rilling, among others, and has been heard in Krakow and at the Tonhalle Zürich. She has also made guest appearances at various opera houses such as the Staatsoper Hannover, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Theater Bremen, StadtOperSoest, as well as in Chile at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago and the Teatro del Lago in Frutillar. Her performed roles include Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Adele in J. Strauß' Die Fledermaus, Anne Frank in Grigori Frid's monodrama The Diary of Anne Frank, Niece in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, Flower Girl in R. Wagner's Parsifal, among others. She also sang the role of Linda in the premiere of Andreas Tarkmann's Didos Geheimnis by (Galerie Herrenhausen, Hannover) with the Mädchenchor Hannover.
Francisca Prudencio recorded two solo CD's: "No te duermas, niño" ("Don't sleep, little child", 2007) with international lullabies and "Du bist wie eine Blume" (2011). She is a soloist with the Echo Klassik- Award-winning CD production "Glaubenslieder" (2009 on Rondeau) with new cantatas for the church year and the first recording of Andreas Tarkmann's Didos Geheimnis (2012 on Rondeau). |
