Isabella Pany (Soprano)

Born: Salzburg, Austria

The Austrian soprano, Isabella Pany, received her first singing lessons at the age of 11. After graduating from high school, she trained as a state-certified choir and ensemble conductor at the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Plattling, majoring in voice under Gertrud Dondl (Class of 2016). She then studied at the Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum für Musik und Musikpädagogik der Universität Augsburg in the vocal classes of Agnes Habereder-Kottler and Professor Dominik Wortig (Class of 2022). After successfully completing her studies, she furthered her training with soprano Sally du Randt (Staatstheater Augsburg). She participated in master-classes with, among others, Peter Lika (oratorio), Markus Kreul (lieder and chamber music), and Kammersängerin Marilyn Bennett (opera and operetta). In 2024, she took part in the Margreet Honig Summer Academy (singing, acting, and improvisation). She received particularly formative artistic inspiration in a master-class with the renowned vocal instructor Professor Ulrike Sonntag (HMDK Stuttgart), with whom she has collaborated regularly ever since. In 2022, she received the Bavarian State's "Junge Kunst und neue Wege" artist grant. She is also a recipient of a grant from the Deutsch-Tschechischen Zukunftsfonds, which in 2025 provided her with further training for a master-class with Franz Hawlata in Kaliště, Czech Republic.

Isabella Pany performs as a soloist in concerts. During her first year of studies, she sang the soprano solo in W.A. Mozart's Requiem in the Großen Goldenen Saal Augsburg. Her repertoire also includes works such as J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Felix Mendelssohn's Psalm 42: Wie der Hirsch schreit, J. Haydn's Harmoniemesse, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, etc. In 2023, she made her debut with the Pilsner Philharmoniker as the soprano soloist in Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.

She also has a great passion for opera and operetta. As part of a university production, she performed the role of Hannchen in E. Künneke's operetta Der Vetter aus Dingsda. At the 20th Open-Air-Festivals der Konzerte in Fronhof, she sang the Second Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with the SUK-Symphony Prague Orchestra. Under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski, she made her debut at the Bayerischen Staatsoper in Munich in 2024 as the Eunuch in Dmitri Shostakovich's opera Nos (The Nose). In a production by Opera Semplice, she portrayed Giannetta in G. Donizetti's opera L'elisir d'amore in May 2025. In July 2025, she made her role debut as Ännchen in C.M. von Weber's opera Der Freischütz and also sang the role of Woglinde in R. Wagner's opera Das Rheingold at the Wertinger Festspiele.

In addition to her engagements as a soloist in concert and opera, Isabella Pany also regularly presents her own recitals and concert programs featuring arias from opera, operetta, and musicals, for example, at the Langen Kunstnacht Augsburg, in the Rokoko-Festsaal des Schaezlerpalais, etc.

Ensemble singing also plays a significant role in her artistic work. Since May 2023, Isabella Pany has regularly participated in various productions with the opera chorus of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. Since December 2023, she has also worked on a project basis with the opera chorus of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. In October 2025, she won the audition for the soprano position in the opera chorus at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and has been employed there permanently since November 2025.
