Beatriz Oleaga (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: 1987 - Madrid, Spain

The Spanish mezzo-soprano, Beatriz Oleaga Ballester, studied International Economy and Development a Complutense University of Madrid (Class of 2010). She obtained the Advanced Degree in Music at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid with Pilar Pérez-Iñigo (2011-2015). Currently she combines an intense professional activity with a Master of Improvement in the Cátedra de Canto "Alfredo Kraus" Fundación Ramón Areces of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, under the guaidance of the teacher Ryland Davies (2016-2018). She has received magisterial lessons from Teresa Berganza, Helmut Deutsch, Richard Levitt, David Mason, Carlos Mena and Gerd Türk. She has been selected four times by Jordi Savall for the Academia del Centro Internacional de Música Antigua, and has been awarded in the Concurso Círculo Bach organized by the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid in collaboration with the Fundación Goethe.

Beatriz Oleaga is a freelance soprano singer since 2009. She has performed on stages such as Cité de la Musique in Paris, Sala KKL Lucerne, Liceu de Barcelona, Teatro Real de Madrid, National Center of Performing Arts of Beijing, Bachfest Leipzig, Alte Oper Frankfurt and L'Opéra Royal of the Palace of Versailles. She has interpreted several opera roles, as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, Hechicera in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, Wellgunde in Das Rheingold by Wagner and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart). Likewise, she has sung las a soloist at the Teatro Real in Moses und Aron by Arnold Schoenberg, Nos Hacemos un Retrato, Opera Intergalactic and A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. Other interpretations include Symphony No. 2 by Gustav Mahler, Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Messiah by George Frideric Handel, Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach, Nisi Dominus by Antonio Vivaldi and Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Rossini; as well as in the production of El Corregidor y la Molinera by Falla at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.

Beatriz Oleaga has sung as a soloist with orchestras such as the Sinfónica de Madrid, La Capilla Real de Madrid, Ensemble Drama, La Spagna, Al Ayre Español, Polska Orkiestra Radiowa, Dresdner Barockorchester and Hespèrion XXI. She has worked under the baton of conductors like Lothar Koenigs, Nacho de Paz, Óscar Gershensohn, Fabián Panisello, Maximiano Valdés, Paul Goodwin, Michal Klauza, Zsolt Nagy and Jordi Savall. At the same time, she has participated in recordings for the SGAE and the record labels Enchiriadis and Alia Vox.
