Orquesta de Cámara de Chile (Chamber Orchestra)

Founded : 1982 - Santiago, Chile

Dependent on the Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio (Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage), the orchestra was born in the 1950's under the wing of the Ministry of Education. In 1982 it was restructured by maestro Fernando Rosas, who began his professionalization, in addition to promoting the consolidation of what are currently youth and children's orchestras. As a state cast, it has been called the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile (= OCCH; Chilean Chamber Orchestra) since 1991.

Its 33 members are outstanding interpreters of learned music, which allows exhibiting an indisputable artistic level inside and outside the country, fulfilling the purpose of increasing access to excellent musical expressions for vulnerable populations and / or in territorial isolation.
