The Spanish tenor, Carlos Négrín (Negrín) López, graduated in Musicology from the Universidad de Valladolid in Spain (2009-2013) and continued his singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany with Deutschland Stipendium, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree (2014-2017). He earned his Master of Arts degree from the Conservatorium in Den Haag with Scholarship Fundación Municipal Cultura Valladolid, where he specialized in early music repertoire (2018-2020).
Carlos Negrín López has performed leading roles in several opera productions. In 2021, he sang the role of Samson in the world premiere of the opera Don Quixote, composed by Vanni Moretto, for Opera2day. He has also sung as a soloist in various productions, including Apocalypse (Jan van Leiden) with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Empio Punito (Tidemo) at Teatro Verdi di Pisa, and Radamisto (Tiridate) with the Dutch National Opera Academy.
Carlos Négrín López is also frequently sought after as a Lieder and oratorio singer. His oratorio repertoire includes various roles in the oratorios/passions and cantatas of J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann, and W.A. Mozart, among others. As a soloist, he is regularly engaged as a soloist in opera and oratorio, and has performed in venues such as Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, or the Royal Theater of The Hague., and has worked with conductors such as Christopher Ward, Judith Kubitz, Andrés Locatelli, and Carlo Ipata, among others. As an ensemble singer, he has performed all over Europe with international groups such as Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Vox Luminis (Director: Lionel Meunier), Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Teatro dei Cervelli, and Cantar Lontano.
In 2020, Carlos Négrín López recorded the CD "Brabant 1653" with the ensemble Holland Baroque for the Pentatone record label. He previously appeared on the CD "L’empio Punito" for the Glossa record label. Recently, he appeared on the CD "G.P. Telemann: Complete Cantatas Vol. 3 Französischer Jahrgang 1714/1715" with the Neumeyer Consort (CPO). |
