The Isreali soprano, Carmit Natan, Carmit began singing from a very young age in the professional Ankor Children's Choir, with which she appeared as a soloist in Israel and abroad. She completed her degree of Bachelor of Mususic degree at the Jerusalem Music Academy with Professor Efrat Ben-Nun, and a Masters in performance at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, specializing in early music repertoire in the class of Professor Gerd Türk. She received lessons from Alessandro de Marchi, Roberto Gini, Antonella Gianese, Ashley Solomon, Margreet Honig, Andreas Scholl, Anthony Rooley, Evelyn Tubb, Simone Kermes, Maria Cristina Kiehr and Jeanette Favaro-Reuter.
As a soloist, Carmit Natan performed J.S. Bach (Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Magnificat (BWV 243) and various cantatas), Gabriel Fauré (Requiem), Masses by J.S. Bach, Haydn, Francis Poulenc and Rossini, Carissimi (Jephte), Antonio Vivaldi (Magnificat), George Frideric Handel (Alexander’s Feast, Dixit Dominus), Lulier (Weihnachtsoratorium) and M.A. Charpentier (Le malade imaginaire) among others. Recently she participated in a concert presenting newly discovered cantatas by Alessandro Stradella, with Maestro René Jacobs, and performed and recorded Biber’s Missa Salisburgensis with Maestro Jordi Savall and La Capella Reial de Catalunya.
Carmit Natan has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, conducted by Jordi Savall, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Andrew Parrott, Nicolas Krüger, Yaron Gottfried, Stanley Sperber, David Shemer and Yuval Ben-Ozer. She is a member of various ensembles such as La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Choeur de Chambre de Namur, La Cetra Vocalensemble and Novantik Basel. She currently lives in Basel, Switzerland. |
