Victoria Meteyard (Soprano)

Born: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England

The English soprano, Victoria Gregory (Meteyard), began singing as a chorister at St Mary’s Collegiate Church, Warwick. She went on to study a degree in Mathematics and Music at Royal Holloway, University of London as a choral scholar (2013-2016), during which time she recorded three CD's and performed in some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including The Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral.

After graduating in 2016, Victoria Meteyard held a Choral Scholarship at St Martin-in-the-Fields where she sings regularly with St Martin’s Voices. She has benefitted hugely from other choral training programmes such as Genesis Sixteen (2017-2018 season) and the Monteverdi Choir (Director: John Eliot Gardiner) Apprenticeship (2018-2019 season), and is thoroughly enjoying being an Associate Artist with Tenebrae (Director: Nigel Short). She sings with many of the UK’s top ensembles such as the Eric Whitacre Singers, The Sixteen (Director: Harry Christophers), ORA Singers, The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips), Erebus Ensemble, The King's Consort (Director: Robert King), Siglo de Oro, Sansara and the Chapel Choir of the Tower of London.

Victoria Meteyard also enjoys performing as a soloist. Recent highlights include George Frideric Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Monteverdi's Vespers at the Clifton International Festival of Music and with the Thomas Tallis Society/Eamonn Dougan, J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor BWV 232 with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and his Magnificat in D major BWV 243 at Chichester Cathedral and St Martin-in-the-Fields, L.v. Beethoven’s Mass in C at St Mary’s Warwick and a recital tour of English and Japanese Song around Japan in 2019.

Victoria Meteyard teaches Singing at Putney High School and enjoys taking workshops with London Youth Choir and Music Centre London through Tenebrae. In her spare time she likes going on cycle rides and learning Japanese. She married Jules Gregory on August 18, 2022 and currently lives in London, England.
