The Brazilian baritone, Israel Martins, completed his singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg; and received his master's degree in opera/musical theater at the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2019.
Especially active in the concert sector, Israel Martins can often be heard in southern Germany and Switzerland. As an ensemble singer, he works regularly with the Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), and with Rundfunkchor Berlin (Director: Gijs Leenaars), often with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Kirill Petrenko, Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz), and Schweizer Vokalconsort (Director: Marco Amherd). He was most recently heard as a soloist in Buchs-SG with excerpts from Johannes Brahms' Requiem (2021), and as Angelotti in Puccini's Tosca (2021), in Villach (Austria) and Kornwestheim (Germany) with the independent opera ensemble Compagnia Nuova under the musical direction of Andrés Juncos. |
