Alba Martínez (Soprano)

Born: Spain

The Spanish soprano, Alba Martínez, had passion for music from an early age, that led her to begin her piano studies at the age of 10. Later, she discovered her love for opera and decided to specialize in this discipline. She holds a degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, specializing in Opera Singing, from the Conservatorio del Liceo (2019), where she studied under the tutelage of Eduard Giménez. She also complemented her academic training with a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Barcelona (2015).

Alba Martínez' career has been marked by significant debuts on prestigious stages. In December 2023, she debuted as a soloist at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and in 2024 she made her first solo appearance at the Teatro Real. On both occasions, she performed an operatic and oratorio repertoire in a concert dedicated to W.A. Mozart. Her first major operatic debut took place in January 2019 at the Palau de la Música Catalana, where she sang the role of the Queen of the Night in a production of W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In 2020, she won the Concurso Mirna Lacambra, which allowed her to reprise this iconic role in several performances.

Since then, Alba Martínez has brought to life characters such as Berenice in L'Occasione fa il Ladro, Erste Dame in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Frasquita in Georges Bizet's Carmen, and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In 2021, she participated in the Rossini & Co. concert at the Belcanto Akademie of Festival Rossini in Wildbad (Germany) and made her debut as a soprano soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem at the Palau de la Música Catalana.

In 2022, Alba Martínez made her solo debut in Haydn's Die Schöpfung. That same year, she shared the stage with renowned artists such as Simón Orfila, Aquiles Machado, and Aya Wakizono, and gave a recital as part of the Amigos de la Ópera de La Coruña's program. In September 2024, she took on the role of Eurydice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at the Auditorio Municipal de Terrassa, alongside the Terrassa 48 Orchestra and Ópera Popular de Barcelona. In November 2024, she debuted as Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with the Associació Òpera l’Amistat of Premià de Mar. Her career continues to rise, solidifying her position as one of the most promising voices on the current operatic scene.
