Mária Lőkösházi (Soprano)

Born: September 17, 1990 - Budapest, Hungary

The Hungarian soprano, Mária Lökösházi, graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with a Masters degree in Oratorio and Song Performance under Professor Júlia Pászthy in 2021. From 2018-2021 she was awarded an artistic scholarship by the Hungarian Academy of Arts. Thanks to this, she has the opportunity to perform in several recitals and concerts. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Studies (since 2021) at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, In 2024, she received the First Prize in the Voice Division at the International Liszt Competition in Los Angeles.

Mária Lökösházi has worked with numerous orchestras as a soloist in oratorios and has also given solo recitals with her colourful repertoire of songs. Her performing art covers all musical periods from early music to contemporary works. She is renowned for her interpretations of early and contemporary music, Italian bel canto, and art song repertoire. She has appeared at numerous prestigious concert venues and music festivals both in Hungary and abroad.

Mária Lökösházi started teaching as a professor’s assistant in 2023 at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Since September 2024 she serves as a faculty member at the Academy’s Kodály Institute. She married Csaba Gaál on July 19, 2014.
