Amanda Koopman (Mezzo-soprano)

The American mezzo-soprano, Amanda Koopman, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from Calvin Clllege (2005-2009); and her Master of Music degre in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University (2009-2011).

Amanda Koopman is currently living and working in the Chicago area. She especially enjoys singing cleverly crafted recitals, Rossini's coloratura roles, almost anything by George Frideric Handel, and choral a cappella with perfect tuning. She has performed as soloist in G.F. Handel's Messiah with Bella Voce (2014), several J.S. Bach Cantatas with Chicago Bach Ensemble, and performed several recitals in cities in China (2014). She has participated as soloist for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra and is a regular soloist with the Grace Lutheran Church: Bach Cantata Vespers (2015-2017). She has performed as soloist with Chicago Bach Ensemble (since 2016), Harper Festival Choir (2011), Chicago Arts Orchestra, and Green Lake Music Festival. She is a regular member of Grant Park Music Festival (since 2010), Bella Voce (since 2014), Willian Ferris Chorale (2014-2015), and Music of the Baroque, Chicago (Director: Jane Glover; since 2011).
