The Chinese-born American soprano, May Kohler, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Bachelor of Arts degree Political Science & Government degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music (September 2019-May 2023); and her Master of Music degree in Voince & Opera from University of Wisconsin-Madison (September 2023-May 2025), studying with Dr. Julia Rottmayer.
May Kohler balances days in the warranty world with evenings teaching voice and piano at the Academy of Sound (since July 2024). Favorite roles include Calisto in La Calisto and Franca in The Light in the Piazza with University of Wisconsin-Madison. Beyond opera, she has performed with Madison Bach Musicians, Just Bach Madison, and Madison Savoyards, and helps lead worship at Madison Church of Christ. |
