Luise Kimm (Mezzo-Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German mezzo-soprano, Luise Kimm, obtained her Bachelor degree in Musicology from the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen; and her Master of Music degree in Classical Singing from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in the class of Rita Dams in June 2015.

Luise Kimm's repertoire streches from the Renaissance to modern music. As a soloist she sang on stage in roles such as Pepicek in Brundibar by Hans Krasa, Valencienne in Die Lustige Witwe and The Muse in the modern music theatre production Irrlichter. She performed solo in the Stabat Mater of Pergolesi, the Requiems of Duruflé and Mozart and in several song-recitals.

The focus of Luise Kimm's work is professional ensemble singing. She was a member of the choir of the Aalto-Musiktheater in Essen (Germany), and the Dutch National Youth Choir. She sang in productions of the Dutch National Opera Academy, in the project choir Meesters & Gezellen, in the Netherlands Radio Choir (Director: Klaas Stok), with the Nederlands Kamerkoor (Director: Peter Dijkstra) and the Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven), working with conductors like Stefan Soltesz, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Jos van Veldhoven, Kaspars Putniņš and Iván Fischer. She is is a member of Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss) and Bach Koor Holland (Director: Gijs Leenaars).
