Anna Karmasin (Soprano)

Born: Munich, Bavaia, Germany

The German soprano, Anna Karmasin, studied opera and concert singing at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium in Innsbruck and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München as well as the Bayerischen Theaterakademie. In January 2018 she graduated with a master's degree in Lieder writing. During her studies she was a scholarship holder of the Deutschlandstipendium, Christl und Klaus Haak-Stiftung, and Vereins CM e.v. zum Aufbau junger aufstrebender Musiker. She was given special encouragement from Barbara Daniels, Stanislava Stoytcheva, Sabine Lahm, Siegfried Mauser, Donald Sulzen and Fritz Schwinghammer.

Anna Karmasin was, among others, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, performing on stage as Euridice in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Adele in Fledermaus, Susanna in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Peri in Das Paradies und die Peri and Kunigunde in Candide.

Anna Karmasin sang in the Herkulessaal der Münchner Residenz and in the Philharmonie München, performed with the Nürnberger Symphoniker and - under the baton of Valery Gergiev - with Münchner Philharmoniker and - conducterd by Krzysztof Urbański - at "Klassik am Odeonsplatz".

Anna Karmasin has given Lieder and arias recitals in Munich, Berlin, Milan and Paris, accompanied by Rie Kimura, Liese Klahn-Albrecht and Gerold Huber, among others. For some years now, she has been involved in the field of New Music with the Ensemble Blauer Reiter, which accompanied her on tour to New York and Boston. She performed, inter alia, Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire, or Matthias Pintscher's Lieder und Schneebilder. In the field of film music, she was once again heard alongside the Bavarian film-makers in 2018, including at the Munich Film Festival at the Philharmonie am Gasteig. She has performed with Concerto München and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and sang at the opening of the Consulate General of Israel, Munich in a televised performance of A. Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire. She currently lives in Munich, Germany,
