The American baritone, actor, and singing teacher, Craig Juricka, In 2016, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance with an emphasis on Opera and Musical Theatre from Capital University (2012-2016); his Master of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (2016-2018), as well as professional affiliations with the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Musical Theatre Educators’ Alliance (MTEA), and Early Music America. During the summers of 2021 and 2018, he was featured as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera. In 2017, he was a national finalist in the Classical Singer Competition (Emerging Classical & Musical Theatre Professional Division) in Chicago, Illinois.
Craig Juricka* is a vocal pedagogue, actor and singer. He has recently been seen in the Boston Pops' production of Ragtime as Harry K Thaw/Lower East Side Ensemble, Umbrella Stage’s Now. Here. This. as Man 2, FPAC’s Little Mermaid as King Triton, and in a broadway workroom workshop of Michael Mott’s new musical In the Light.
In the concert singing world, Craig Juricka is a sought-after concert soloist and chorister. He has sung with esteemed ensembles and orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston Baroque (Director: Martin Pearlman), Handel & Haydn Society (Director: Harry Christophers), Ensemble Altera, Emmanuel Music (Director: Ryan Turner), Bach Akademie Charlotte, Marsh Chapel Collegium (Director: Scott Allen Jarrett). And he has performed in opera houses with Des Moines Metro Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Odyssey Opera, and MassOpera. He has performed solo engagements in Boston Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall with the Handel & Haydn Society. Most recently, he was featured as a soloist on the Tapestry of Voices album with the Juventas New Music Ensemble - performing Anne Kilstofte’s Songs of the Night Wind.
As an advocate for the pedagogy behind a versatile mechanism, Craig Juricka's approach to teaching singing is routed in his cross-trained background as a singer. Comfortable in teaching all genres, his students range from high school through graduate students and professional actors and singers. His students can be seen working on Broadway (Funny Girl, Great Gatsby, Gypsy), in National Tours (Jagged Little Pill, Chicago), and in regional theatre and opera houses around the nation. His goal as a voice teacher is to help students access their strengths and develop their weaknesses, so they can become reliable and employable singers. Developing their “tool belt” and ultimately fostering sustainable technique routed in the ability to be expressive emotionally and physically in any genre of singing. He holds voice faculty appointments with The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Berklee College of Music (since 2021), and Brandeis University. He also maintains a private studio in Melrose, Massachusett.
