Jacob Hunter (Tenor)

Born: March 18, 2001 - Latham, New York, USA

The American tenor, Jacob Hunter, obtained his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music (September 2019-May 2023), where he studied with professor Anthony Dean Griffey. He is pursuing his Master of Music degree in Voice and Opera at Bard Conservatory, studying with Richard Cox. He is the 2019 recipient of the Renée Fleming Endowment Scholarship, the 2021 recipient of the Links Inc. Scholarship, and has appeared in past master-classes directed by Judith Haddon and Lawrence Brownlee.

Jacob Hunter joined the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory in 2022, where he sang the role of the Schoolmaster in Janaček’s The Cunning Little Vixen. His past performance titles include: Tenor Soloist in George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Rodney in One Touch of Venus (Kurt Weill Scenes Program), Nurse in Lear on the Second Floor, Phoebus in The Fairy Queen, Mercurio in La Calisto, Tenor Soloist in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 101, Nimm Von Uns Herr, Du Treuer Gott), Valcour (c) in L’Amant Anonyme and Jack (c) in Into the Woods, among others.
