Richard Hrytzak (Baritone)

Born: Canada

The Canadian baritone, Richard Hrytzak studied voice at the University of Ottawa, in Kitchener with Victor Martens, and at the Tafelmusik Summer Baroque Institute.

Richard Hrytzak appeared in Opera Atelier Toronto’s productions of C.M.V. Weber's Der Freischutz (The Marksman, 2012), Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, George Frideric Handel’s Alcina, and W.A. Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail (2013), Die Zauberflöte (2013) and Lucio Silla (2016). He has also performed with Nota Bene Baroque Players, Choir 21, Arcady Ensemble, Elora Festival Singers, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Boris Brott and the National Academy Orchestra. In 2017, he performed J.S. Bach's B Minor Mass (BWV 232) with Spiritus Ensemble (Director: Kenneth Hull). He also conducts the choir at Grand River Unitarian Congregation. Outside of singing and conducting he co-owns and brews at Counterpoint Brewing Company, a craft brewery in Kitchener.
