Felipe Gutiérrez (Tenor)

Born: 1989 - Chile

The Chilean tenor, Felipe Ignacio Gutiérrez Bravo, began his studies of Lyrical Singing at the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile with the teacher Lucia Gana in 2008. Three years later, he joined the chair of Professor Patricio Sabaté and obtained the annual scholarship of Amigos del Teatro Municipal.

Felipe Gutiérrez began to appear as a soloist in various cantatas of J.S. Bach and innumerable sacred works, under the direction of maestro Alejandro Reyes, in different universities in the country and together with various renowned musical groups. He also joined the Coro de Cámara de la Universidad Alberto Hurtado, directed by Paula Torres. In 2013, he joined the Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile, under the direction of Luan Pablo Villarroel. He He sang as a soloist in J.S. Bach's Cantatas BWV 61 and BWV 104 together with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile (OSNCH), under the baton of the renowned German maestro Thomas Sanderling. In addition, he was a soloist with these same groups in the national premiere of Luciano Berio's Sinfonia, conducted by Losep Vicent. In April 2017, he made his debut as the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245, together with the Coro Ensamble Ubre choir (Director: Paula Elgueta) and the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile, conducted by Alejandra Urrutia. In September 2017, he was a soloist in Monteverdi's 'Vespro della beata Vergine', together with the Orquesta Barroca Nuevo Mundo conducted by Raúl Orellana. In November 2017, he was a soloist in the national premiere of Alfred Schnittke's Requiem, together with the Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile and musicians of the la Sinfónica Nacional de Chile, under the baton of its principal conductor, the prominent Ukrainian maestro Leonid Grin. That same month he served as narrator at the world premiere of the work Valparaíso by the Chilean-Israeli composer, winner of the Premio Nacional de Música, León Schidlowslcy, together with the Sinfónica Nacional de Chile conducted by the Venezuelan conductor Rodolfo Saglimbeni. In addition, he was a soloist in L.v. Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, together with the Ensamble Libre, the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile and the pianist Liza Chung, all under the baton of Alejandra Urrutia.. Currently he is a member of Camerata Vocal Universidad de Chile, Coro Sinfónico Universidad de Chile and Bach Santiago.
