Daniel Greco (Baritone)

Born: August 18, 1987 - Málaga, Spain

The Spanish-born American baritone, Daniel Greco, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from St. Olaf College; his Master of Music in Musical Theater Performance & Advance Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York Univrersity Steinhardt (2013-2015). At NYU he studied under Dr. Brian Gill and Jeremy Aye who were both students of Barbara Doscher. He was also a 2017 participant of Nautilus Music Theater's Wesley Balk Institute.

Baritone Daniel Greco is a Minneapolis based singer, actor, voice teacher, music director, worship leader, and songwriter. Daniel's career as a multi-disciplined performing artist has earned him a reputation for authentic expression, powerful presence, and truthful storytelling within classical and non-classical circles alike. As a baritone soloist he has appeared with Art Song MN, Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Fifth Ave Presbyterian Church Chamber Choir, LSM Festival Chorus and Orchestra, Good Shepherd Festival Chorus and Orchestra, Colonial Chorale and Musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra, and for the inaugural concert of the 17th International Festival of Sacred Music and Art in Rome with the Together in Hope Project, a collaboration with Grammy nominated Trondheim Solistene and celebrated Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen. He has also performed as a chorister in a number of Minnesota Opera productions including the world premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Silent Night and regularly performs on song recitals, where he is sure to be found guilty of breaking at least some of the rules. Professional theater credits include numerous projects with Nautilus Music-Theater, the North American tour of Theater Latté Da's All Is Calm, originating the role of Hugh O'Neil in the world premiere production of Five Points also with Latté Da, Yellow Tree Theater (Violet), Bucket Brigade Theater (Big Little Monster), Second Fiddle (Chess), Minneapolis Musical Theater (Tick, Tick... Boom!), Shoot The Glass Theater (Company), Opera Theater Oregon (A Little Sondheim Music), and Theater Elision (Of Art & Artists). You can hear Daniel singing the title role on the award winning concept album Van Winkle: A Folk Musical and as a featured vocalist on Here I Stand, a Hamilton-inspired hip-hop album.

Daniel Greco is a sought-after pedagogue, master class clinician, adjudicator, and music director. He currently serves on the voice faculty and directs the musical theater program at Lutheran Summer Musical Festival and Academy at Valparaiso University. He has held faculty positions at NYU Steinhardt (Adjunct Instructor of Voice: September 2013-May 2015), St. Olaf College (Voice Instructor: January-May 2017), and McNally Smith College of Music (Voice faculty: 2017), has guest instructed at Grinnell College, St. Thomas University, and Inver Heights Community College, and maintains a large private voice studio based at his "wee cottage" in South Mpls (since 2009). His teaching style is characterized by empowering students through concrete technical tools and information-forward instruction, such that the student is able to make informed choices while authentically navigating different genres and tuning strategies.
