The Dutch tenor, Adrian Fernandes, studied classical singing at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts, hogeschool voor de kunsten) with main subject teacher Roberta Alexander (2008-2012). He also received coaching and master-classes from, among others, Carolyn Watkinson, Frans Huijts, Charlotte Riedijk, Dennis O'Neill and Vinson Cole.
Adrian Fernandes is active as a tenor singer since 2012. He has performed many great works, such as the Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248, Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 and Johannes-Passion BWV 245 (tenor soloist and evangelist) and many cantatas by J.S. Bach, several Masses by W.A. Mozart, Messiah by George Frideric Handel, Die Schöpfung by J. Haydn, Vespro della Beata Vergine by C. Monteverdi, Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini and Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings and the Saint Nicolas Cantata by Benjamin Britten.
Adrian Fernandes worked as a tenor soloist on the special Christmas program 'Rejoice!' by Combattimento Consort Amsterdam and Wishful Singing that was performed in, among others, Paradiso Amsterdam, Orpheus Apeldoorn and Oosterpoort Groningen. In 2017, he performed in the summer at the first, successful edition of the festival 'Lekker Klassiek' in Belgium with no less than 3,500 spectators and he participated in the performances of G.F. Handel's Messiah by the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, conducted by Johannes Leertouwer. He previously worked with conductors such as Wiecher Mandemaker, Rob Vermeulen and Dirk Brossé. He currently lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. |
