András Farkas (Tenor)

Born: April 2, 1991 - Ajka, Hungary

The Hungarian tenor, András Farkas, was a student of tenor Boldizsár Keönch at the Jezsuita Roma Szakkollégium (2012-2013). He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Singing (2013-2017); and his Master of Arts degree in Oratorio and Lieder Singing (2017-2019) from the Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetemen (Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music), as a student of Ingrid Kertesi.

András Farkas tenor was born in Ajka in 1991. Due to his exceptional coloratura skills, András Farkas regularly sings in oratorios, mainly J.S. Bach's cantatas and oratorios, in addition to opera. During his studies at the Academy of Music, he regularly sang in joint productions of the University and the Opera House. In 2016, he performed in Benjamin Britten's opera A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Máté Szabó, and in 2018 in Paul Hindemith's opera: Long Christmas Dinner, presented as part of the German Late Night at the Kiscelli Museum. In 2019, he sang several times in the operatic cross-section of W.A. Mozart's: Le nozze di Figaro, directed by Orsolya Magyar. In November 2020, he appeared in the Hungarian premiere of Julian Philips' chamber opera: The Yellow Sofa, organized as part of the Cafe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, directed by András Almási-Tóth at the Academy of Music. He made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera in Levente Gyöngyösi's opera-musical: The Master and Margarita at the Eiffel Workshop.

In addition to opera, András Farkas regularly sings tenor solo in oratorios and masses at the Matthias Church and the Deák Téren Evangélikus Templom (Lutheran Church of Ferenc Deák Square). He has sung in Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy. He currently lives in Veresegyház.
