Peter Di-Toro (Tenor)

Born: London, England

The English tenor and marketing professional, Peter Di-Toro, began his love of singing - and opera in particular - at the age of 11 when he was selected by the Royal Opera House to be part of the children’s chorus in John Copley’s iconic production of La Bohème, featuring a fresh-faced, up-and-coming star by the name of Roberto Alagna. The production was subsequently filmed by the BBC and recorded on EMI Classics. He studied at The London Oratory School (1995-2001); and obtained his LLB, Law degree from University of East Anglia (2001-2005).

Peter Di-Toro has a wealth of arts marketing experience, having worked with orchestras, venues, record labels, festivals and artists. He has worked a Press and Promotions Assistant (September-December 2006) and Marketing Assistant (December 2006-December 2007) at Decca Music Group; International Marketing Manager at EMI Classics (January-June 2008); Marketing Manager at Albion Media (July 2008-August 2011); Marketing Executive for Classical Music at Barbican Centre in London (August 2011-September 2014); Marketing Manager for the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras' record label, Soli Deo Gloria (September 2014-July 2015); Marketing Manager (July 2015-March 2017) and Head of Marketing and Communications (March 2017-January 2019) of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain; Marketing & Brand Project Manager at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (February 2019-September 2020), where he led a nationwide branding project as part of the School’s new strategic plan to refocus its wide-reaching Guildhall Young Artists programme.

Peter Di-Toro worked at the National Opera Studio in London as Digital and Communications Manager (October 2020-March 2022); since March 2022, he is Head of Marketing and Digital there. He is responsible for the National Opera Studio’s communications, branding, website and marketing. Led the upgrade and implementation of the Studio's new AV infrastructure - transforming the Studio's Blackburn Hall into one of London's leading digital performance spaces. He works closely with the Head of Philanthropy and the Chief Executive to ensure all communications reflect and augment the organisation’s vision and values.

Since September 2011, Peter Di-Toro has been a singer for professional groups and church choirs around the UK and abroad, including: Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Gli Angeli Genève (Director: Stephan MacLeod), Amsterdam Baroque Choir (Director: Ton Koopman), Dunedin Consort (Director: John Butt), Polyphony (Director: Stephen Layton), The Choir of The English Concert (Director: Trevor Pinnock), London Choral Sinfonia, Voices of Instruments of Time and Truth, Ex Cathedra (Director: Jeffrey Skidmore), Chamber Choir Ireland, Dublin Consort Singers, London Choral Sinfonia, Cambridge Singers (Director: John Rutter), The Hanover Band Chorus, the Brompton Oratory, Westminster Cathedral, The Guards Chapel, The Queen's Chapel, Savoy, Grosvenor Chapel, Lincoln's Inn, St Peter’s, Eaton Square and HM Chapel Royal at St James's Palace. For some of this groups he also works as an Arts Marketing Consultant

As soloist, Peter Di-Toro has worked with the Royal Choral Society, University of Essex Choral Society, Norwich School Choral Society, CORO and the East Malling Singers in works including Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, George Frideric Handel's Messiah, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Purcell’s King Arthur, J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) and Haydn’s Creation.

Peter Di-Toro loves running, travelling, good coffee and terrible jokes.
