Anna-Julia David (Soprano)

Born: Canada

The Canadian soprano, Anna-Julia David, studied voice at the University of Toronto: Faculty of Music (2017-2020). She also attended the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute (TBSI), and was a member of the Hart House Chorus. She is currently living in the Netherlands, studying for her Master of Music degree in singing at the Utrechts Conservatorium. She has also participated in master-classes with Lynne Dawson, Peter Harvey, Ann Monoyios, Daniel Taylor, Margreet Honig and Rosemary Joshua.

Anna-Julia David has performed several times as a soloist in the Lunchpauzeconcert Mise en Scene at Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrechtse Bachcantatediensten, Grachtenfestival Lanceert and Opera aan Zee Festival. She has also performed as a soloist with orchestra under the baton of Boudewijn Jansen (conductor of the Dutch National Opera). She is a member of the Decamaron Ensemble as a soprano, together with Rianne Helmus (recorder), Gala Lozynska (cello) and Sevastianos Motorinos (harpsichord). With Decameron Ensemble she was a finalist of the Rheinsberg Hofkapelle Competition in Germany and the TARF Competition in Tel Aviv, Israel. She is also a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor (since 2021-2022 season) and Consensus Vocalis. In Canada, she has performed as a soloist for joint Schola Cantorem and Tafelmusik concerts. She will be making her debut at Opera Atelier in Toronto (directed by Marshall Pynkoski singing the role of Amour in Gluck’s Opera Orphée et Eurydice.
