Christian Castro (Bass, Choral Conductor)

Born: Chile

The Chilean bass and choral conductor, Christian Castro, Graduate in Education and Professor of Musical Education at the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación, mention of choral direction. In 2015 he began his studies at the Instituto de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica in the class of maestro Alejandro Reyes obtaining his Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Conducting.

Christian Castro has directed several children's choral groups and is currently in charge of the Orquesta de niños de Bajos de Mena OBAM. In March 2016, he formed his first university choral project, Amancay Ensamble Vocal, made up of professionals from various areas with the purpose of giving amateur level people a space to put together music with a high level of complexity. In 2019 he joined the Coro de Cámara de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile as a vocal instructor of the bass string, a group directed by maestro Mauricio Cortés. He is a member of the vocal ensemble of Bach Santiago (2020-2023).
