The American bass-baritone, Paul Boyce, studied music theory and composition at St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota.
After his studies, Paul Boyce and sang with the Dale Warland Singers and the Minnesota Chorale. He travelled east in 1986 and began working for various ensembles in Philadelphia and New York. Since that time he has sung as a member of The Philadelphia Singers (Director: Michael Korn) and appeared on their 1987 holiday recording Gloria! Gloria! along with Benita Valente and the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. He also sang in the chorus of the Opera Company of Philadelphia. While living on the east coast he toured extensively, both nationally and internationally, with New York’s Ensemble for Early Music (Director: Fred Renz).
In 1996, Paul Boyce relocated to San Francisco, California and in 2003 became a member of the Philharmonia Chorale, which often accompanies the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. He has also sung with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus (Director: Jenny Wong), Artists’ Vocal Ensemble (AVE), Volti (Director: Robert Geary) and Cantata Collective (Director: Nicholas McGegan). |
