The German bass, Christian Beutel, began his musical career in the Tölzer Knabenchor. He continued on this path after his voice broke and joined the men's choir of the Tölzer Knabenchor. After graduating from high school, he first completed a degree in bioinformatics at the Technical University of Munich. He then studied singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich with Professor Lars Woldt and graduated with top marks. Due to his great passion for early music, he continued his education at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague with, among others, Peter Kooij and Robin Blaze and completed his master's degree in 2024. In 2022 he successfully participated in NKK NXT, the traineeship program of the Nederlands Nederlands Kamerkoor (Director: Peter Dijkstra). Since 2023 he is a freelance member of the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln.
As a Lied singer Christian Beutel has already been able to convince at numerous recitals and can look back on a successful collaboration with singers and pianists such as Ian Bostridge and Donald Sulzen within the framework of several courses.
Christian Beutel's special attention has always been devoted to opera. Here he made his debut in many roles in the common repertoire during his studies. Including as Don Pasquale in Don Pasquale, Sarastro in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Wotan in R.Wagner's Das Rheingold and as Noye in Benjamin Britten's opera Noye's Fludde, which he performed together with the Jewish Chamber Music Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Grossmann. |
