Bach Collegium Japan: Cantatas Vol. 24

Thomas Shepherd wrote (June 3, 2004):
I've just ordered BCJ vol 24, BWV 24, 8, 33, 113 which has been recently released in the UK (£12 sterling). I missed vol 23 at the end of last year so I've ordered that as well. I'm looking forward immensely to two more disks. I notice that vol 22 received the prestigious French Diapason d’Or for the year 2003. I hope that other accolades will be showered on this quite remarkable series. It is up to us also to support BIS in their undertaking of this cycle of recordings. Its still got several years to run. Information on the recording can be seen at http://www.bis.se/frlatest.htm.

Peter Bright wrote (June 3, 2004):
[To Thomas Shepherd] I received vol. 24 today (courtesy of my good friend and fellow list member Piotr) and have listened to it just the once. My first impression is that it maintains a similar impeccable standard that can be found on all the Suzuki cantata discs... Once I have spent some time with it I shall try to find time to post my impressions...
