The German baritone and choral conductor, Horst Sellentin, studied instrumental music, singing and conducting. From 1946 to 1948 he was active at the Staatstheater Lübeck.
In 1948 he joined as a singer (baritone) solo and the Chor des Norddeutschen Rundfunk in Hamburg. In 1960, he co-founded with Max Thurn the Knabenchor des Norddeutschen Rundfunk in Hamburg and was also its director. After the Knabenchor were taken over from the main church of St. Nikolai am Klosterstern, Hamburg, Sellentin directed since 1971 the Hamburger Knabenchor St. Nikolai.
