The Dutch high baritone, Hessel Vredeveldt, is naval architect and materials science engineer. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Technische Universiteit Delft (2008-2012); and his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) from Technische Universiteit Delft (2012 – 2014). He is also a student of classical singing at Royal Conservatoire in the Hague, where his teachers are Frans Fiselier and Sasja Hunnego (2015-2019).
At the Conservatoire, Hessel Vredeveldt regularly sings in early music ensembles; this academic season, for example, he sang in a production of J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor (BWV 232) in collaboration with The Juilliard School New York, conducted by Ton Koopman. He regularly sings in the professional choir Laurens Collegium Rotterdam, this year (2017) for example in J.S. Bach's Matthew Passion (BWV 244) with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nathalie Stutzmann. As a soloist, Hessel sings a variety of repertoire, ranging from J.S. Bach to Igor Stravinsky.
