Evgeny Vorobyov (Tenor, Choral Conductor)

Born: Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia

The Russian tenor and choral conductor, Evgeny Vorobyov (Russian: Евгений Воробьев), was born in Arzamas where he took the first steps in his academic music career while studying choral conducting, music theory, chamber ensemble and concertmaster performing (piano). In 1998, he graduated from the Faculty of Musicology of the Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory. Next three years he was taking the postgraduate programme in the State Institute of Art Studies, Moscow. He is currently taking a doctorate at the University of Regensburg.

Evgeny Vorobyov performed as a member of the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia, Yurlov Russian State Academic Choir and some vocal ensembles of early music. In 2011-2013 he was an artist of the musicAeterna chorus of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre as well as a chorus administrator (2012-2013) and administrative director of the musicAeterna (2013-2014). He has been the Principal Chorus Master of the theatre since the 2019-2020 season and Artistic Director of the Parma Voices Choir since the 2020-2021 season. He currently lives in Moscow, Russia.
