Anna Semple (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: London, England

The English m a mezzo-soprano and composer, Anna Semple, finished her Masters in Composition at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2021.

Based in London, Anna Semple is currently freelances alongside her position in the choir of All Saints, Margaret Street, and as a Teacher-Singer with Pimlico Musical Foundation, where she also teaches violin and music theory. She sings for a number of concert groups including Tenebrae (Director: Nigel Short), Ex Cathedra (Director: Jeffrey Skidmore), Sansara and The Carice Singers, and is an alumna of Genesis 16 and the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge.

As a composer, recent commissions include works for the Royal Opera House, Waterperry Opera Festival, The Sixteen, The Marian Consort, and Wells Cathedral. Alongside her collaborator, Emily Collinson, she is one half of Sol Pont - a multi-disciplinary arts company exploring collaboration and improvisation within a variety of creative contexts.
