The American tenor, Paul Scholtz, obtained his Bachelor of Arts in English Major, Math and Music Minors from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa (2006-2010).
Paul Scholtz is Tenor and Artistic Council of Cantus Vocal Ensemble in Minneapolis since August 2015. When not performing with the ensemble, he enjoys engagements as a concert soloist and appearances with Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City (2014-2015). Highlights from recent seasons include a performance of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah with the late J. Reilly Lewis of the Washington Bach Consort, his debut at Carnegie Hall in Carol Barnett’s The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass, and performances of J.S. Bach’s Magnificat (BWV 243) and Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.
In addition to his work as a soloist, Paul Scholtz has enjoyed seasons as Concert Development Associate with Manhattan Concert Productions, including singing with Manhattan Chorale under the direction of Craig Arnold (August 2012-July 2015), Oregon Bach Festival Chorus under the direction of Kathy Saltzman Romey, Helmuth Rilling, and Matthew Halls, and Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity Lutheran under the direction of Donald Meineke (2014-2015). Since June 2010, he lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
