Daniel Schmid (Tenor)

Born: Germany

The German tenor, Daniel Schmid, already made his first musical experiences in children's choirs through leading roles in musicals and Singspiels. He gained his access to singing mainly by singing sophisticated literature in choirs in and outside of his region, such as the Neuen Kammerchor Heidenheim, in which he was not only active in the choir but also as a soloist. Since 2009 he has been the singer and composer of the Männervokalensembles MA’cappella, which has received multiple gold diplomas in international choir competitions in Bad Ischl and Malaga. Since 2015 he has been studying school music with Carmen Mammoser at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, majoring in singing.

In addition to the Kammerchor der Musikhochschule Stuttgart, he has been a member of the professional chamber choir "Figure humaine" under the direction of Professor Denis Rouger since 2016. He is a soloist in various choir projects in the Stuttgart area. For example, in 2017 he appeared in Kirchheim unter Teck as the Evangelist in George Frideric Handel's Brockes Passion, HWV 48 . In August 2018 he sang at the final concert of the Europäischen Kirchenmusikfestivals in Schwäbisch Gmünd with the professional Baroque orchestra Il Gusto Barocco under the direction of Jörg Halubek. In the same year he was also the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) in Stuttgart. In January 2019 he could be heard as a soloist in Reutlingen in G.F. Handel's Messiah. Since May 2017 he has been responsible for the vocal training of young people as a choir director of the Jungen Chores des Liederkranzes Eislingen and is now the overall musical director of the association with the mixed choir Salto Vocale. Since the beginning of 2019 he has also conducted the Gesangverein Concordia Notzingen-Wellingen.
