The Portuguese tenor, Tiago Pinheiro de Oliveira, studied Singing, Trumpet and Musical Theory in Porto. In 2007 he received his Diploma in Musical Theory and Pedagogy at the Universiy of Aveiro (2001-2007). From 2007 to 2010, he studied Choral Direction with Professor Martin Schmidt, and Orchestra Direction with Professor Andreas Weiss at the Music Department at Karlsruhe, Germany. In 2013, he obtained his Master of Music degree in Singing from the acclaimed Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he studied with Rosa Domínguez (2010-2013).
As a Choir Singer Tiago Oliveira worked with a range of German and Swiss ensembles as Vokalensemble Rastatt, Orpheus Vokalensemble, Freiburger Vokalensemble (Director: Wolfgang Schäfer), ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius) and Zürcher Sing-Akademie (Director: Timothy Brown).
Tiago Oliveira sang The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell, and Medée by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, at the Theater Basel, as a soloist. In the realm of the Opera Stage other experiences include the aclaimed Monteverdi L'Orfeo under Ivor Bolton at the Prinzregent Theater in Munich.
As an Oratorio singer Tiago Oliveira has been heard with several J.S. Bach works including St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) Evangelist, Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and various Cantatas and Lutheran Masses, as well as W.A. Mozart's Requiem and Haute- Contre parts in various French Baroque oratorios from Campras to Charpentier. He currently lives in Freiburg, Germany. |
