Keith Lathrom (Tenor, Choral Conductor)

Born: January 10, 1989 - Houston, Texas, USA

The American tenor and choral conductor, Keith Lathrom, obtained his Bachelor of Music degre in Music Education from Sam Houston State University (August 2007-May 2011), where he studied conducting with Dr. Allen Hightower and Dr. Carol Smith. After graduating, he continued private conducting lessons with Thomas Jaber at Rice University and studied orchestral conducting with Dr. Brett Mitchell, who is currently the Music Director of the Colorado Symphony. Prior to graduate study, he founded and directed Circa Choir, a semi-professional ensemble based out of Houston, Texas. He received his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College of Rider University (August 2013-May 2015), where he was the graduate assistant to their early chamber ensemble, Westminster Kantorei, under the direction of Dr. Amanda Quist. Additionally, he served as the tenor section leader of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, as they prepared major works with renowned symphonies, such as the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Wiener Philharmoniker. He also served as the tenor section leader for the Westminster Choir under the direction of Dr. Joe Miller.

After finishing his studies, Keith Lathrom was the Director of choirs at A&M Consolidated High School (July 2015-June 2017). The choir received numerous awards under his leadership including a recent debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He then was the director of choirs at Red Oak High School (June 2017-July 2023); Choir Director at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas (since April 2023). Ensembles under his leadership have received numerous awards including a debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Keith Lathrom continues to sing professionally as the Tenor section leader in the Church of the Incarnation Dallas Choir, and their new Professional Ensemble, Incarnatus (May 2017-July 2023). He has sung with other professional choral ensembles including, The American Baroque Opera Company, Red Shift, Verdigris (since March 2017), Hotchkiss Chamber Choir, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Dallas Bach Society, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Cantare Houston, Houston Bach Society, Princeton Pro Musica in Princeton, New Jersey, and Oklahoma Bach Choir (June 2023). He has participated in performance tours across the USA and the UK. His professional associations include the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), and Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA). He currently lives in Houston, Texas.
