Born: Germany

The German mezzo-soprano and singing teacher, Pascale Jonczyk, initially completed the state examination in music education with violin as a major at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg before beginning her singing studies with Regina Kabis-Elsner and Markus Eiche in 2018. With the Yara Ensemble she went on a concert tour through southern Germany in 2022 with J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 in a solo setting and historical performance practice. Her repertoire ranges from early Baroque to Romantic to complex contemporary repertoire. She can be heard regularly with the latter at the Klangforum Heidelberg under Walter Nußbaum. She got a taste of the opera stage in the summer of 2023 with George Frideric Handel's opera Rodelinda. in the role of Eduige in Basel and Winterthur, as well as in G.F. Handel's Semele at the Bayrischen Staatsoper.

Pascale Jonczyk has been able to live out her passion for ensemble singing with well-known conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Gustavo Dudamel, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Frieder Bernius, Manfred Cordes, Michael Alber, Martin Steidler and Frank Markowitsch. She sang in ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), Rundfunkchor Berlin (Director: Gijs Leenaars), ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), Europäischen Hanseensemble, and the Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann). In the future she is looking forward to freelance projects in the SWR-Vokalensemble as well as the premiere of Liedern eines Albums by Louise Japha.
