The German tenor, Georg Drake, began his musical training in the Knabenchor Hannover and performed at the Staatsoper in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and in the production Hail! Bright Cecilia under Konrad Junghänel. He later studied in the vocal class of Professor Sabine Ritterbusch at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (2012-2016). He also studied at Universität der Künste Berlin. In a master-class with Evelyn Tubb and Michael Fields, he focused on the interpretation of early music.
Georg Drake worked as a tenor soloist and choir singer under the direction of Andor Izsák in numerous concerts and CD recordings by the Europäischen Synagogalchores (European Synagogue Choir). In Hannover, he has worked as a concert singer with important conductors, including Gudrun Schröfel, Jörg Breiding, Andor Izsák and Jörg Straube. Last year he was heard on the radio under the direction of Lothar Zagrosek with the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden & Freiburg. In contrast, he is embarking on completely new, more popular territory with the young a cappella quartet "schnoy", which regularly appears in northern Germany. He is still very much attached to the Knabenchor Hannover, with which he also worked as an artistic-pedagogical employee. He currently live in Berlin, Germany. |
