Rebecca O'Hanlon (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Australia

The Australian mezzo-soprano, Rebecca Emily O'Hanlon, is a A graduate of the Conservatorium High School (2013-2015), and obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium (2016-July 2020), studying under Dr Narelle Yeo. She was Young Artist at Pacific Opera (January 2020-November 2023).

Rebecca O'Hanlon has featured as soloist in Gabriel Fauré's Requiem and in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore. She was also the soprano soloist for the Conservatorium of Music Centenary Concert in 2015. In 2018, she had the honour to perform the mezzo soprano solo from Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky with the Conservatorium Orchestra and Choirs in Verbrugghen Hall under Maestro Eduardo Diazmuñoz and, in 2019, performing the Alto solo sextet part of Alice Chance’s Fiat Lux. She was Young Artist at Pacific Opera (January 2020-November 2023). She sang there: Lucretia in a pocket opera performance of Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia (2021); Soloist in Last Night of the Proms (2021); 3rd Lady in a pocket opera performance of W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (2022); Florence Pike in B. Britten's Albert Herring (2022); Rosina in Rossin's Il barbiere di Siviglia (2023). Currently she is a member of Bach Akademie Australia (since 2024; Director: Madeleine Easton).

Rebecca O'Hanlon has been employed as Singing Teacher at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts (since March 2020); Learning and Support Officer at Santa Sabina College (since January 2024)
