Johann Eusebius Schmidt (Hymn-Writer)

Born: January 12, 1670 - Hohenfelden, near Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany
Died: December 25, 1745 - Siebleben, near Gotha, Thuringia, Germany

Johann Eusebius Schmidt was a German hymnist. He studied at Jena and Erfurt. From 1693 to 1696 he was a private tutor at Gotha and became pastor at Siebleben the following year.
